About Me

Hi I’m Ben Chmil!

I’m originally from Chinchilla, born into the hard-working hands of Bill and Lee Chmil.  If my upbringing has anything to do with my interest in training, it’s probably because my parents were health conscious-folks disciplined enough to exercise regularly.  Not too extraordinary, but my dad had to work hard doing physical labor to bring in the bucks, and he excelled because he consistently trained to be in shape for his work.  I looked up to him, and saw how important and valuable being in shape could be.  I was mildly athletic as a boy, not really a standout at all, but this kind of got to me by the time I hit junior high.  I trained running with track, and learned that my formidable fatigue in distance running could be conquered!

It was a long road through high school sports, and I learned many valuable training techniques the hard way, but I was driven (I owe many thanks to my coaches) and constantly strove to improve in every way I could.  I did cross country, track, swimming, and even football.  I had only recreational experience in each of these sports at the onset, but I was determined to buckle down and move past the norms and be my best.  So really, I found out the real secret behind star athletes….  They are just like everybody else except they choose to train harder!

I can make the whole story a lot longer and more exciting (or boring depending on interest levels) but basically, even though training can be tough, the bottom line is that it always pays off and you feel the result.  The benefits far exceed the drawbacks, and you invest in something you take wherever you go: your body.
